Albert Heijn emphasizes health at proximity locations
Dutch grocer Albert Heijn is expanding the fresh, healthy and convenience focus of its Albert Heijn to go format, with a redesigned Amsterdam Centraal outlet delivering stronger-than-expected sales. The chain operates 80 staffed to go locations across stations, hospitals and universities, plus 115 unmanned workplace sites. The Amsterdam store offers more space, 16 self-checkouts and automated ordering, while fresh food is taking a growing share of the assortment. (Levensmiddelenkrant)
