Aldi begins operations at UK’s largest-ever grocery DC
Aldi has started initial operations at its new Bardon distribution centre in Leicestershire after investing more than GBP500 million. The 120,000m2 site, Britain’s largest supermarket warehouse, will employ about 1,000 people and forms part of Aldi’s GBP1.6 billion UK investment during 2026 and 2027. Once fully operational, it will serve nearly 350 stores and handle almost seven million pallets a year. (Aldi)
