German discount retailer Aldi Nord has strengthened its Polish management team, appointing Marcin Kuś as chief commercial officer and promoting Paweł Stańczyk to COO. Kuś joins from Carrefour Poland, where he was chief commercial officer, while Stańczyk previously headed Aldi Poland’s sales operations. The appointments come as Aldi accelerates expansion in the highly competitive Polish grocery market, where it operates more than 400 outlets. (Lebensmittel Zeitung)
