Amazon claims it is now the #2 US grocer
Amazon said Q1 units rose 15% YoY, the strongest growth since the end of Covid lockdowns, as the group added more than 600 brands. Amazon’s US grocery gross sales exceeded USD150 billion in 2025, making it the country’s second-largest grocer, while perishables sales rose more than 40 times YoY across same-day delivery areas. Whole Foods Market operates over 550 outlets, with 100 more planned. It also said users of its Rufus AI assistant rose 115% in the quarter. (Amazon)
