Amazon readies GBP40 billion funding for UK business

Amazon plans to invest GBP40 billion in the UK between 2025 and 2027, creating thousands of jobs and four fulfilment centres. The US group will open sites in Hull, Northampton and the East Midlands, expand its delivery network and add two London offices. The investment includes previously announced data centre spending and is expected to contribute GBP38 billion to UK GDP. Amazon currently employs more than 75,000 people nationally. (Amazon)
