US ecommerce group Amazon will launch Amazon Warehousing and Distribution across Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the UK, expanding the bulk storage service beyond the US. AWD allows sellers to hold inventory in Amazon distribution centres, with stock automatically replenished into Fulfilment by Amazon facilities according to demand. The service uses pay-as-you-go pricing and is aimed at reducing storage constraints, particularly during peak trading periods. (Ebrun)
