Amazon sheds around 1,000 roles in Store division

Amazon has cut fewer than 1,000 corporate jobs, primarily in its Stores division, affecting employees in the US, UK and India. Customer service and seller support teams are among those affected. The reductions follow approximately 30,000 layoffs initiated last year. Amazon said the restructuring would better align operations with business priorities, while founder Jeff Bezos attributed continuing workforce reductions to overhiring during the pandemic. (Reuters)
