UK supermarket Asda has launched Asda Convenience, a wholesale supply model for independent retailers, backed by GBP1 million investment. An initial three-outlet trial with operator One-O-One will open in Glasgow, with each location stocking around 3,500 products including Asda own-label, fresh and chilled groceries and food-to-go. The format is separate from Asda Express, with Asda aiming to scale the model across the UK if successful. (Asda)
