Boots seeks new plan after Weston reduces bid

UK pharmacy retailer Boots’ proposed GBP7 billion sale to the Weston family has stalled after the buyer reduced its offer and owner Sycamore Partners rejected the revision. Boots could instead pursue a London listing within two years under incoming CEO Alex Baldock. The retailer operates more than 1,800 outlets, with annual revenue rising 3.2% to GBP7.5 billion, pre-tax profit up 25% to GBP337 million and LFL retail sales increasing 5.8%. (Retail Gazette)
