Coop Norge figures speak to Norwegian discount channel growth

Coop Norge discount chain Extra increased market share to 18% in 2025 from 17.7% in 2024, with turnover of NOK43.8 billion. NIQ data showed the discount segment accounted for 66.9% of the total NOK238 billion grocery market. Coop said overall market share, including online, was 28.7% at end-2025, with 1,100 outlets in operation. Other banners recorded shares of 4.3% for Obs, 2.9% for Coop Prix, 2.7% for Coop Mega, 0.4% for Coop Marked and 0.3% for Matkroken. (ESM)
