eBay said to be cutting 9% of workforce
US online marketplace eBay plans to cut around 1,000 jobs, representing 9% of its workforce, as it simplifies operations and redirects investment towards faster-growing businesses. CEO Jamie Iannone said the restructuring would support expansion in luxury goods, collectibles and refurbished products. The cuts follow 800 redundancies in February. The company recently acquired fashion resale platform Depop for USD1.4 billion and has forecast Q3 revenue above market expectations. (Reuters)
