Edeka can take over Tegut stores, with conditions

Edeka, Germany’s largest supermarket group, has received competition approval to acquire 178 Tegut supermarkets from Swiss retailer Migros, alongside 41 Teo automated stores, Herzberger bakery and a logistics centre. Edeka had sought 202 supermarkets but agreed not to acquire 24 locations for four years after regulators found the original deal would significantly weaken competition across 34 regional markets.
