German supermarket operator Edeka is preparing to add an AI chatbot and personalised offers to its app. The Microsoft-powered assistant will automatically answer queries, while transaction histories, interests and online activity may inform tailored coupons, discounts and product recommendations. Google Cloud technology will anonymise personal data. Edeka also plans to migrate around 400,000 customer and employee accounts to Microsoft software. (CHIP)
