German-owned grocery retailer Kaufland has appointed Tomislav Šapina as CEO of its Polish business, replacing Martin Piterák. Šapina has spent 22 years with parent Schwarz Group, owner of Kaufland and Lidl, and previously held senior roles within Lidl. He took charge of Kaufland Polska on 1 September as the chain continues operating in one of Europe’s most competitive grocery markets. (Wiadomości Handlowe)
