Kaufland reveals German taste for regional products
Kaufland has launched a Regio-Index using 2025 sales data and a YouGov survey, naming Dresden Germany’s most regional city, with almost one in three baskets containing a local product. Kaufland said 41% of shoppers considered regional products more important than a year earlier, rising to 51% among 18-24s. The retailer works with more than 2,000 regional suppliers and sells around 25,000 regional products. (Lebensmittel Praxis)
