Lidl reaches 13,000 stores worldwide

Lidl has opened its 13,000th store globally in Raunheim, Hesse, extending its network across 32 countries. Germany accounts for more than 3,250 outlets. Lidl said domestic expansion is increasingly focused on medium-sized cities and metropolitan areas, using flexible formats including existing buildings and retail parks. The Raunheim store created 25 jobs, while new-build locations are increasingly using timber construction to reduce their carbon footprint. (Lidl)
