Lidl trials first autonomous truck in Germany
Lidl has partnered with Swedish technology company Einride to deploy Germany’s first cabless autonomous electric truck in grocery retail. Operating at SAE Level 4 near Kassel, the vehicle will transport up to 15 pallets per trip from Lidl’s Edermünde distribution centre to a nearby outlet. Running up to three times daily, it could move more than 3,000 pallets during the four-month trial. (Lidl)
