Poland preps provenance disclosure for private label goods

Poland’s agriculture ministry is preparing rules requiring grocery retailers including Biedronka, Lidl and Dino to identify the actual manufacturers of private-label food products on packaging. The measure aims to increase transparency as private label expands rapidly, with the Polish market valued at more than PLN67 billion. GfK data shows 68% of consumers regularly buy private-label products, while 71% consider their quality comparable with branded goods. (Wiadomości Handlowe)
