Target has opened its first Receive Center in Houston, a 1.2 million sq ft supply chain facility designed to receive inventory from global vendors and hold products until needed. The retailer said the USD265 million site will create 185 local jobs and serve six regional DCs and one flow centre. Positioned between Target’s import warehouses in Georgia and Washington, the facility aims to speed replenishment and reduce distribution costs. (Progressive Grocer)
