Temu hit by largest fine yet under DSA regulations

The EU has fined Temu EUR200 million for failing to assess and address risks linked to illegal products sold on its platform. Regulators said consumers were very likely to encounter unsafe items, including baby toys, chargers, clothing and jewellery. The penalty is the second and largest under the Digital Services Act. Temu, owned by PDD Holdings, has until 28 August 2026 to submit an action plan or risk further penalties. (BBC)
