Tesco moves to address concerns over UPF
UK supermarket leader Tesco has banned or restricted 114 food additives from its own-label products as it steps up efforts to address consumer concerns over ultra-processed foods. More than 80% of customers surveyed said they were trying to eat fewer processed foods but found the issue difficult to navigate. Tesco said it would continue reformulating products, removing UPFs where possible and encouraging customers towards healthier whole foods including fruit and vegetables. (The Grocer)
