Tesco said to be exploring Central Europe exit

Tesco, the UK’s largest food retailer, is exploring a sale of its Central European operations in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia, according to the Financial Times. The business operates 561 outlets and generated GBP4.49 billion in sales and GBP115 million in adjusted operating profit in 2025/26, contributing about 4% of group profit.
