Sebastian covers the Central & Eastern European markets at Lebensmittel Zeitung, the leading German business publication for the FMCG and food retail sector. In his role as head columnist and analyst, he has contributed several hundred data-driven analyses and interviews and regularly features in international retail media and as speaker on conferences in the region.
As a German expatriate based in Poland, he has his retail roots in operations project management and on the shop floor. Before joining the publishing house’s analyst group, for 15 years he developed the CEE business for Schwarz Group and Metro Group as a member of the international sales teams. Sebastian is founder of ALETOS Advisory, delivering retail intelligence projects that combine analytical data with strategic perspective and practical shop-floor experience.
Sebastian obtained his master’s degree in Business Administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) at the University of Passau and also studied at the State University of Management in Moscow. He is fluent in English, Polish, Russian and German.
